Haul - Boohoo & Primark

So here are my goodies in order:
Boohoo:
Jade Snowflake & Snowman Sweater £12
Adrianna Pin Stud Buckle Trim Western Ankle Boot £15

Primark (don't think they have official names?):
Studded strappy flats £10
Aztec print/Zara knock-off heels £12 - like these that are everywhere (but for much less hehe)

So pretty much, all of these items were a steal so I don't feel so bad for buying them. The boots are fan-fricking-tastic. Except that they turned my white socks black, but nothing major. Unfortunately the heels are as uncomfortable as they look but I knew that as soon as I tried them on - didn't stop me. Also, I'm wearing them write now, as I type, in vain hopes that I'll get used to the pain and be able to spend a whole night hobbling around in these beauties :)

Mini Drugstore/Highstreet Makeup Haul - UK

From L, clockwise: Rimmel Apocalips | Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick | MUA Lipsticks | Sleek Face Form

So here's my little makeup haul from yesterday. 4 lipsticks and a bronzer/highlighter trio. Although I've worn lipstick only about 5 times in my entire life, I've developed a slight obsession with this particular makeup product. Especially the dark and bold shades - not usually the first pick for a lipstick newbie. I got these goodies at Boots and Superdrug, the London equivalents of Priceline in Australia.

L-R: Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick 107 | MUA Lipstick shade 3, shade 14 Bare

In short, I love love love the Kate Moss lipstick - both colour and texture and everything. I probably should've swatched it, but I'm sure there are plenty of those on Youtube/Blogger etc. Worth the £5. On the other hand, MUA lipsticks are a bargain-cheap-steal for £1. Amazeballs. I'm not a big fan of shade 14 Bare, it just doesn't suit me. But shade 3 was a nice surprise. And...it gets better.. the bottom of the MUA lipsticks come with a mini lip balm (image above)! Haven't tried it yet, but it's a cute little idea.

Sleek Face Form, Medium

Bioderma Crealine Sensibio H20

MUA Undressed palette

And here are the non lip products from my UK haul. All of which I'm quite pleased with :)

Sleek Face Form - You can probably tell from the photo that the bronzer shade is way too dark for me but when used sparingly, I really don't mind it. Highly pigmented powders and a giant mirror compact, excellent.

Bioderma H20 - YAY, my friend and I realised that we share the same obsession over cult makeup products and we got this Bioderma beauty as soon as we knew that it was available in London. £10 for 250ml is a little steep for my student budget but it was worth trying. Good for sensitives eyes/skin and takes my makeup off without leaving any residue. I would repurchase it if it was available easily in Australia.

MUA Undressed palette - Only £4, this palette is so worth it. Comes in a few other colour combinations so definitely check it out if you have access to MUA. Wearable colours - mostly shimmery but a couple of mattes. Good stuff, MUA.

And here I am, trying to rock a pink lip (Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic). Should've seen me trying to put this stuff on. Being a little too keen to try out my new purchases, I stood on Oxford St trying to rub pink stains off my face with hands that were covered in pink stains while my friend tried to hold up the back of her iPhone for me to use as a mirror. Big Ass Mess.

If anyone has any UK drugstore/highstreet makeup products they recommend - please share! I want to get as much as I can while I'm here. Only 1.5 months left :o

It's been a very long time

London, United Kingdom

If you can't already tell from the photos above, I am currently in London. And I've been here for just over two months now, which partially explains why I haven't posted in so long. Lots of things happened and time for blogging sort of disappeared and before I knew it I was in London and now I'm nearly half way through my little journey on the other side of the world.

I should be writing essays right now but I've decided to resurrect my blog, just to give myself another means of procrastination yeeeah. Can't really sum up my experience too well since so much has happened and I don't know where to begin so let me list the places I've been to, where I'm going next and where I hope to go in the next few months.

Been to:
London, UK(obviously)
Dublin, Ireland
Wales (for about 30min)
Sheffield, UK

Will be going to:
Edinburgh, Scotland
Eastbourne, UK
Barcelona/Ibiza/Madrid, Spain

Hope to go to:
Portugal
Morocco
France
Italy
Germany
Switzerland
Croatia
Turkey
Greece
Hungary
(and everywhere else, really.)

If anyone has any travel tips/places to see in any of the "will be going to" cities - please post below!! Stay tuned for some more updates and pictures. Hopefully I'll get back into writing a little more frequently :)

September 19, 2012

I’ve been AWOL, but here’s an update!

Since my last post…almost a month ago (my bad!) a lot has happened…as it does, in a whole month. I’m getting back into things, hopefully having some time out to take my little baby/Nikon D3000 out for some much needed happy snapping. In the mean time, I’ve been trying to save up for a bunch of little things on my near-future wish list:

A potential exchange trip to London (can my uni please hurry up and tell me if I’ve been accepted or not?)
Drawing tablet (maybe Wacom Bamboo? Does anyone use one?!)
2xu or CWX or something full-length compression tights – kind of pointless as we’re coming out of winter but I still want a pair!
Polar heart rate monitor
Nudie High Kais in navy
A whole bunch of summery clothes

To be honest, I think the list is a lot longer but I’ve narrowed it down so far ahaha. I’ve been thinking of using a Qantas frequent flyer card because it allows you to earn air miles for money spent whilst shopping, which means I could get a tiny bit closer to ticking off an item on my list ehehee.
